Sheep & Wool Festival

The 53rd Annual Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival is a celebration of the sheep from horns to hooves. There is everything from lamb meals to workshops to sheep shearing contests. They truly represent all aspects of the sheep and the many types. If you are ever in the region during early May try to check it out.
Hand illustrated with colored pencils and additional vector and typeface manipulation in Adobe Illustrator. Illustrations were scanned with Epson Perfection Scanner for all illustrations.
Inspirations
The inspirations for this promo poster was based upon the textural nature of sheep wool from shearing to processing to art. I also wanted to highlight the main focus of the sheep with odes to cross-stitching marks styles for the wool patterning. The large illustration grid is also based on a carved printmaking style with highlights of organic and fiber elements for negative space.
